So, you want to know a bit more about me...

My career so far

If you want the even more abridged version, I am happy to send you my resume, or take a gander at my LinkedIn profile

My career path to marketing started selling vegan mayonnaise. We all have to start somewhere, right?

I worked hard at an early-stage vegan food start up in San Francisco, and when it ended, I wasn't sure what to do. I was alone in a big expensive city where I barely knew anyone. My job search (including a stint at a farmer's market juice stand) led me to my role as an office manager at a recruiting company.

I got back on my feet again and while I loved the organizational aspect being an office manager, I didn't see my future in HR, I wanted to get into marketing.

Through my connections in the office management world (thank you to Org Org, Office Ninjas, and more!) I found my way to my first marketing role at the HR tech company, Culture Amp.

I was one of the first 75 employees, and I was thrilled to be on the path to a career in marketing. After four years building my foundation in content marketing, I left to join Torch in December of 2019. Yes, the winter before the pandemic. I stayed with Torch through that tumultuous year, and then joined Pyn as the founding marketer. There I expanded upon my background in content to manage all aspects of marketing as the Head of Marketing.

Currently, I'm working with my longtime friend and former colleague Stacey Nordwall on a fun new HR podcast, Toot or Boot.

What's happened in between the roles

Over the years I've had many personal passion projects. Most recently, I ran AVL Clothing Swap, a fundraiser for reproductive justice in Asheville. While our future post-hurricane is uncertain, over the past three years we raised almost $20,000 for Planned Parenthood and swapped thousands of items of clothing.

I embarked on a cross country road trip from California to Maryland after the first year of the pandemic. Along the way I fell in love with Asheville, and made the move permanent after many years of trying to decide where to live outside the Bay Area.

I've adopted my wonderful dog Tessa, and we've fostered many dogs together (she's a tough foster sibling).

While I never thought of myself as an "athlete" I surprised myself by finding my strength at Orange Theory fitness in Maryland, and eventually becoming a recreational rower in Asheville.

I recently learned how to crochet, and I'm delighted to have found this new craft as well as excited for what new adventures the future holds.
